The above text and image is drawn from a post on January 19th on a MSNBC public news discussion bulletin board. While this post might seem meaningless, there is reason to suspect that, in retrospect, this may have been one of the only forewarnings America received of an upcoming nuclear terrorist attack.

THE MYSTERIOUS EOM & DALEEL

"EOM" is the handle of an individual who recently started posting threatening messages, purportedly for al Qaeda, on a U.S. message board called Current News and Views 2 (CNV2). While I consider it a distant possibility that EOM is, in fact, a genuine member of the al Qaeda terrorist network, I'll present what information I have accumulated to present and you, and hopefully the FBI, can judge for yourselves.

"Jeannie", the handle of a long-time participant on the CNV2 board, claims that EOM started to post messages a few months ago after a two year absence. She remembered him because the last time he was posting was just before 9/11, which EOM purportedly predicted, or more so threatened, at the time. Curious about this, I posed a set of questions to Jeannie which she graciously answered as follows:

ME: How accurate was EOM's bulletin board forewarning(s) of 9/11 and how soon before the attacks was it made? Were giving details provided?

JEANNIE: At least the entire weekend before, then he stopped if I remember correctly.

ME: How many posters here were aware of EOM's predictive posts? Is it possible someone aware of the possible 'genuine' nature of his warnings would have used his handle to engage in a hoax?

JEANNIE: He didn't post on the old MSNBC Current News bb, he posted on the old MSNBC Interntional bb. Someone posted a list a few days ago here (might have been NAB) of all the posters on the old Currents. EOM wasn't listed. I was. Not many people used to drift over the the Int'l bb from Currents back then, so I doubt it. Further, if EOM wasn't real, what possible reason would anyone else have to post to me here on an obscure little bb that a few months ago could go days at a time without a post. EOM's first post to me here was, I believe: "Hello, Miss Jeannie, do you remember me?" and I think I said back with horror and shock "Yes, I remember you, what do you want now?" As I said, it's probably still here. There is NO WAY anyone but the real EOM would remember those few communications on a frazzled insane board from two years ago until now, to my way of thinking.

At first, one might be quick to dismiss the claims of "Jeannie" since one eyewitness seems an insufficient basis to deem the posts of EOM as credible. Fortunately, however, there is the "Wayback Machine". As it turns out, there is reason to believe Jeannie is telling the truth. If we go back to September 10th of 2001, we find on the MSNBC international bulletin board the following disturbing post (notably, it appeared after the 11pm news the day before 9/11 and before the infamous 6:30 news just after the attacks):

That this seemingly predictive post addressed to "Jeannie" on a MSNBC international bulletin board, would appear on the eve of the September 11th attacks seems to verify the claims of Jeannie. (NOTE: The post is of the lyrics of the song Horror Movie written by Skyhooks, an obscure 1970's Australian band.)

Now what of the recent post that seems to be threatening future nuclear terrorism?

First off, note that the poem that is posted with the image of a nuclear explosion was written by Fuad Rifqa, an Arab poet. I don't think a teenage prankster looking to pull the legs of internet conspiracy theorists would be aware of such a poem. Only an Arab would be familiar with the work of such a poet. That this poem highlights a "suitcase" and 'fire in a foreign land' hardly seems coincidental given the image attached to the post of a nuclear explosion. Notably, the image selected is easily found with a search in Google images using the term "nuke".

What's noteworthy is that the same image appears on theYahoo homepage of "Daleel Almojahid" (NOTE: Daleel's homepage image changed 1/23):

Daleel Almojahid is the key cohort of EOM in posting al Qaeda threats in English-based discussion groups that has raised the suspicion of a small American audience. Interestingly, the image just above the nuclear explosion in Daleel's homepage collage is of a suitcase nuclear weapon:

This prior post refers to stable "batteries" and the assembly of some sort of device dubbed "Tahiya". Given the subsequent post referring to a suitcase and matched with an image of a nuclear explosion, one can oly but conclude that what is being observed is some sort of hardly cryptic communication regarding the assembly and eventual detonation of a suitcase nuke.

For what it is worth, the word Tahiya is the name of a famous Egyptian belly dancer. As with the poem by Fuad Rifqa, there is a focus on Arab art, in this case dance, that would be familiar to an Arab but not a non-Arab engaging in some sort of intricate hoax. Altogether, the use of Arab language and references to Arab art suggest that the posters are bilingual Arabs knowledgable about Islam and Arab culture. EOM and Daleel are most likely not some computer nerds in Idaho having fun with a small audience of American internet conspiracy theorists.

THE POSSIBILITY OF NUCLEAR TERRORISM

There is little doubt that al Qaeda has been seeking to acquire nuclear weapons for terrorist purposes and may have succeeded in this effort.

If, indeed, al Qaeda acquired "nuclear suitcases" useful for terrorism of unprecedented scale against America, why hasn't such weaponry been used thus far and what would be the logical target for an al Qaeda suitcase nuke?

Fortunately, not the U.S. Capitol at the time of the President's State of the Union address as I was earlier concerned. Indeed, that Wasington D.C. was not targetted at this most vulnerable time is a good sign that al Qaeda has not acquired an operable nuclear weapon, just as the lack of an Anthrax attack at the Times Square New Year's celebration in New York City suggests the Islamic terrorist network lacks a sufficient amount of powdered Anthrax to engage in bioterrorism. The lack of nuclear and biological terrorism at these points of key American vulnerability is a positive sign that al Qaeda and remaining pro-Saddam forces either don't have weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or are unable to position such weaponry in the U.S.

If, however, al Qaeda does have weapons of mass destruction, then one has to wonder why they've refrained from utilizing their arsenal for terrorism against America up to now. What might they be waiting for?

THE COUNTDOWN CLOCK

While the possibility does exist that the Superbowl is a target of some sort for an attack in the near-future, the tight security at the event makes me doubt these would-be terrorists have set their sights on Houston this coming Sunday.

What appears to be more relevant is an al Qaeda countdown clock to midnight February 3rd.

From the two most recent EOM posts, there are a couple of noteworthy details.

In the January 25th post, there is reference to "Severnaya assembly". Severnaya, a Russian word roughly meaning "north", is the name of a secret Russian military base destroyed by the EMP of a nuclear explosion in the James Bond movie GoldenEye. It is also the name of a region in southern Russia right beside Chechnya (North Ossetia) where highly enriched uranium is known to have been smuggled into Turkey for sale to an unnamed party.

In EOM's post today, the device being prepared is referred to again as Tahiya, the name of an Egyptian belly dancer, but this time with references to dancing thus establishing where the term was drawn from.

All jihadists are to be prepositioned by January 31st according to today's post. This still suggests Feb. 1 could be execution date for an operation which implies the Feb. 1 Superbowl could be the intended target. But, more importantly, there is the line: "As we continue the countdown to the victory Allah will most assuredly lead us to on the third day we remain undetected and have all taken our proper places." The third day from January 31st is February 3rd and this connects with the countdown clock posted above which was drawn from a known al Qaeda web site.

February 3rd marks the end of the three day Hajj celebration of Eid Al-Adha after which an animal sacrifice is made to Allah.

Could it be that these would-be terrorists are planning to sacrifice themselves in some sort of unprecedented terrorist attack against America going into or just after February 3rd when the countdown clock runs out? (For interesting insight into the countdown clock, see Sean Osborne's analysis.)

A CRITICAL QUESTION

If a major terrorist attack on U.S. soil does occur in early-February (or, for that matter, whenever), then a critical question is: Why were threats and related communications of an upcoming al Qaeda strike against the U.S. so blatantly posted in English language news discussion forums frequented mainly by Americans?

The posts above are hardly cryptic. They spell out threats and plans for an attack or attacks against America by Islamic extremists, purportedly involving the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Should such attack(s) actually occur it would seem abundantly clear who is to blame, and maybe that is the point. A special effort is being made to convey to an American audience that al Qaeda is on the immediate verge of unprecedented terrorist strikes against the U.S., likely involving WMD and nuclear weapons in particularly. But is Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda ultimately to blame should this happen?

Interestingly, Russia just announced that it is going to hold the largest nuclear war exercise since 1982 when the world was still knee-deep in the Cold War. Oddly, this exercise will not only involve testing defensive systems but will also involve scrambling bombers and launching missiles purportedly to put military satellites into space. The latter part of the upcoming exercise is the most disturbing since conveying this information to the U.S. will fog our ability to determine why missiles are being launched in the context of a massive Russian nuclear war exercise.

Soviet military literature (the articles the West was not supposed to read) emphasizes how weapons of mass destruction could be covertly slipped into the U.S. and then used to sow chaos and confusion and thereby undermine American leadership in the opening phase of a full-scale superpower conflict. The collapse of the Soviet Union over the last decade and a half has served not only to minimize the perceived Russian military threat to the U.S., it also has created the geopolitical environment where weapons of mass destruction could fall into the hands of Islamic extremists hell-bent on terrorizing the West. Thus, the element of strategic surprise has been secured by Moscow and a scenario has unfolded that allows for the clandestine use of WMD against the U.S. that will be blamed on seemingly rogue terrorist networks rather than Russia. In other words, a nuclear war scenario is playing out that is most advantageous for Moscow if Russian military strategists have all along been planning to fight and win an all-out war against the West.

Thus, there is reason to suspect that the fairly blatant threats and communications concerning WMD terrorism by purported Islamic extremists on English language news bulletin boards is to intentionally project to U.S. intelligence that what is about to occur is the handiwork of al Qaeda. The problem is, however, this ultimately may not be the case and what is unfolding is part of a much broader strategy by Russia and the Arab powers to successfully wage a surprise nuclear third world war against America and the Western powers. Certainly that Russia has informed the West of an upcoming all-out nuclear war exercise, something that could be used to mask waging an actual war, furthers the concern that what may soon happen is part of a Russian/Arab grand strategy to destroy Israel, America and the Western powers in order to wrest control of the world.

MY APOCALYPTIC VISION

If, indeed, we are facing WMD terrorism that is the opening phase of a nuclear third world war, a hint at how events could unfold was potentially foreseen by me back during the first U.S. war with Iraq in February of 1991.
