IS BIOTERRORISM AGAINST AMERICA NEAR?

The news of the train bombings in Spain that have killed nearly 200 people and wounded over 1400 others comes just after the Nasdaq Composite decisively fell below 2000 and the Dow Jones Composite broke below 3000. The attacks, which occurred exactly 2 1/2 years after the Sept. 11, 2001 (the DJIA broke decisively below 10,000 on Sept. 6th of 2001), are being referred to as Spain's 9/11 and constitute Europe's worst terrorism since the 1988 bombing of a Pan Am jetliner over Lockerbie, Scotland, that killed 270 people. The impact of the Spain's terrorist attack reverberated through world financial markets as U.S. and European bourses all suffered dramatic drops.

While ETA was the logical suspect for this newest act of terror on Spanish soil, there are rising suspicions that al Qaeda may have been to blame.

A statement attributed to al Qaeda was sent to the London-based daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi that claimed responsibility for the deadly series of bombings in Madrid, which was dubbed "Operation Death Trains", as well as a suicide attack on a masonic lodge in Istanbul two days earlier. "The death squad (of the Abu Hafs Al-Masri Brigades) succeeded in penetrating the crusader European depths and striking one of the pillars of the crusader alliance - Spain - with a painful blow," said the statement, signed "Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades/Al-Qaeda" and dated March 11.

The message indicated that the strike "was a part of the settling of old scores with crusader Spain, America's ally in its war against Islam".

The statement continued: "In another operation the Jund Al-Quds (Al-Quds soldiers) squad struck the masonic Jewish lodge in Istanbul, the main masonic lodge. Three senior masons were killed in the operation and had it not been for a technical error, all would have been killed. Where is America, O Aznar? Who is going to protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and other collaborators from us? We give Muslims in the world the glad tidings that Operation Winds of Black Death, the anticipated strike at America, is in the final stages (of preparation), 90 percent (completed)."

That last line above from al Qaeda's statement is clearly very alarming. What would "Operation Winds of Black Death" be about in America?

Given the post-9/11 Anthrax mailings, Mohammad Atta's interest in purchasing a crop duster and the whole Iraqi connection to all this, I really don't need to elaborate.

"Black Death" is the name of the bubonic plague pandemic that devastated 14th century Europe. "Operation Winds" implies an operation that will make use of winds just as "Operation Death Trains" made use of trains. Is bioterror being planned against America as I forewarn in my 2004 terror alert?

Let's hope and pray deeply not, but there are clear signs that history is moving in this direction. Should, in fact, bioterror actually occur, it will be essential to recognize that what is unfolding is not simply the handiwork of al Qaeda. What is playing out is the global war strategy devised long ago in Moscow and being implemented according to a long-term plan.
